1310 Connect Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account on or using the 1310 Connect mobile application (the "App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not use the App.

These Terms constitute a binding agreement between you and National Road Church of Christ ("we," "us," or "our"), located at 1310 National Road, Wheeling, WV 26003.

2. Invite-Only Access

The App is a private, invite-only platform exclusively for members and regular attendees of National Road Church of Christ. Access to the App requires:

• A valid invitation code issued by a church administrator.
• Registration using the invitation code along with your name, email address, and a password that meets our security requirements.

Invitation codes expire 14 days after they are issued. Expired invitations may be reissued by a church administrator upon request.

Your account is personal to you and may not be shared with, transferred to, or used by anyone else. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials.

Church administrators reserve the right to revoke access to the App at any time and for any reason, including but not limited to violation of these Terms, inappropriate conduct, or discontinuation of church membership.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years of age to create an account and use the App. By registering, you represent that you are 18 or older and that you are a member or regular attendee of National Road Church of Christ.

Minor children may be listed in the household directory by their parent or legal guardian, but they may not create their own accounts or directly use the App.

4. Acceptable Use

The App is provided for the purpose of fostering Christian fellowship, facilitating church communication, and supporting the spiritual life of the congregation. By using the App, you agree to:

• Use the App in a manner consistent with Christian values and the mission of National Road Church of Christ.
• Treat other members with respect, kindness, and dignity in all communications.
• Post only truthful and appropriate content in group chats, direct messages, feed posts, and prayer requests.
• Respect the privacy of other members and not share their personal information (phone numbers, addresses, photos, or messages) outside the App without their consent.
• Not use the App for commercial solicitation, advertising, fundraising for personal causes, or political campaigning.
• Not attempt to gain unauthorized access to other members' accounts, the App's systems, or any data you are not authorized to view.
• Not upload or share content that is obscene, threatening, harassing, discriminatory, defamatory, or otherwise objectionable.
• Not use the App to distribute spam, malware, or any harmful content.
• Comply with all applicable local, state, and federal laws while using the App.

5. Content and Communications

Your Content

You retain ownership of any content you post or share through the App (messages, photos, prayer requests, etc.). By posting content, you grant National Road Church of Christ a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to display and distribute that content within the App to other authorized members for the purpose of operating the App's features.

Content Moderation

To maintain a safe and respectful community, the App includes content moderation features:

• Messages and prayer requests may be automatically scanned against a word filter maintained by church administrators. This scanning is performed entirely on our own server and no content is sent to third-party services for analysis.
• Content that is flagged by the filter is reviewed by church administrators, who may hide messages that violate community standards.
• Church administrators may remove or hide any content that they determine is inappropriate, harmful, or inconsistent with the values of the church community.

Prayer Requests

When submitting prayer requests, you may choose the visibility level: visible to the entire congregation, visible only to church leaders, or submitted anonymously. Please be thoughtful about the information you share, as prayer requests visible to the congregation can be seen by all members.

6. Account Security

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account. The App includes the following security measures:

• Password Requirements: Passwords must be at least 8 characters long and include uppercase letters, lowercase letters, numbers, and special characters.
• Account Lockout: After 3 consecutive failed login attempts, your account will be temporarily locked for 15 minutes. You may use the "Forgot Password" feature to reset your password during a lockout.
• Session Expiration: Login sessions expire after 30 days, requiring you to sign in again.
• Inactive Accounts: Accounts that have not been accessed for 180 or more days may be flagged as inactive by administrators.

You agree to notify a church administrator immediately if you believe your account has been compromised or if you become aware of any unauthorized use of your account.

7. Notifications and Communications

By using the App, you may receive the following types of communications:

• Push Notifications: Alerts about new messages, announcements, event reminders, and other church activities. You can manage these through your device settings and the App's profile settings.
• Email: Church announcements and updates sent to your registered email address (opt-in through profile settings).
• SMS Text Messages: Church announcements, reminders, and communications sent to your phone number (opt-in through profile settings). Message and data rates may apply. You can opt out by replying STOP or disabling in the App.
• Voice Calls: Automated voice calls for urgent, time-sensitive church communications (opt-in through profile settings). You can opt out by disabling urgent call alerts in the App.

8. Member Directory

The App includes a member directory to help members of the congregation stay connected. By providing household and profile information, you understand that:

• Your name and profile photo will be visible to all authenticated members in the directory.
• Household information you provide (address, household members, children, household photo) will be visible to other members.
• Sensitive contact details (phone numbers, email addresses) are visible only to church administrators.
• You may update or remove your household information at any time through the App.

You agree not to use the directory information for purposes unrelated to the church community, including commercial solicitation or distribution to non-members.

9. Events and Volunteering

The App allows you to RSVP for church events, sign up for volunteer tasks, and participate in service opportunities. When you RSVP or sign up:

• Your name and response (Going, Maybe, or Not Going) may be visible to event organizers and other members.
• Family count information you provide helps the church plan appropriately for attendance.
• Volunteer commitments are visible to event organizers and administrators.

Please honor your commitments. If your plans change, update your RSVP or volunteer status promptly so others may have the opportunity to serve.

10. Intellectual Property

The App, including its design, features, code, and branding, is the property of National Road Church of Christ. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or reverse engineer any part of the App.

Scripture content and Bible reading plans referenced within the App may be subject to the intellectual property rights of their respective publishers and providers (such as YouVersion). Use of such content is governed by the terms of those third-party providers.

11. Disclaimer of Warranties

The App is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. National Road Church of Christ does not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components.

The App is operated by church volunteers and staff on a best-effort basis. While we strive to keep the App functional and secure, we are a church community, not a technology company, and we make no guarantees regarding uptime, data availability, or technical performance.

12. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, National Road Church of Christ, its elders, ministers, administrators, volunteers, and staff shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of or inability to use the App, including but not limited to loss of data, unauthorized access to your account, or interruption of service.

13. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the App at any time, with or without notice, for any reason, including but not limited to:

• Violation of these Terms of Service.
• Conduct that is disruptive, harmful, or inconsistent with the values of the church community.
• Discontinuation of your membership at National Road Church of Christ.
• Extended inactivity (180+ days without login).
• At your own request.

Upon termination, your access to the App will be revoked. You may request deletion of your personal data by contacting a church administrator.

14. Privacy

Your use of the App is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which describes how we collect, use, and protect your personal information. Please review the Privacy Policy carefully.

15. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. We will make reasonable efforts to notify members of significant changes through the App. Your continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.

16. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of West Virginia, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the App shall be resolved in the courts of Ohio County, West Virginia.
